Anti-aging blueberry enzyme face mask is a favorite secret weapon against premature aging, fine lines and free radicals. This mask contains antioxidants, fruit enzymes, vitamin c, skin brighteners, and healing agents. It is also gentle for most skin types. I have very sensitive skin and this mask did not irritate my skin at all. I must warn you that blueberries can stain clothing, so be careful with any clothing or towels. I usually use this mask while in the bath tub, but I do use it at sink also, just being careful to not wear nice clothing or use the nice face towels. It did not stain my skin however. I do not leave it on for more than 10 minutes, as leaving it on longer may irritate the skin.

I remember many years ago that I bought something like these, and I thought they were the most awesome thing ever. Especially when you’re sick this helps you feel a little better. All that hot steam with the refreshing peppermint scent. Ahhhhh! It seems to me that it helps open the sinus, and clear the mind (I’m not an expert in oils, so that’s just how it makes me feel).
Now blush is definitely one of those things I pay attention to the ingredients of, as many of them have nasty ingredients in them. And even the more natural ones often contain corn, which I don’t think I tolerate very well. Again, for those of you wondering why I would bother worrying about what goes on my skin, think of things like the nicotine patch. You put that ON your skin, yet the ingredients absorb into your skin, right? Our skin is one of our biggest organs and it absorbs things quite easily. It also keeps things out as well, but a large number of the toxins that find their way into our bodies either get ingested or absorbed.

I clearly remember my first experience with binge eating. I was only about ten years old, but my home life was in chaos. My dad had recently lost his business and declared bankruptcy, and we had to sell our home and almost all of our belongings. The turmoil was hard for my parents, but was absolutely traumatic for my younger sister and me. I remember waking up during the night and hearing them fighting over the situation. My sister and I were too young to understand the details, but old enough to know it was really, really bad.
At some point during that very rough time, I bought a bag of candy. This was an unusual occurrence for me because for most of my early life I was not allowed to eat sugary foods, and especially not candy. Once I had that bag of candy in my possession, though, I was obsessed. On that same day, within the course of an hour and with nobody watching me, I ate every last piece. For that brief time, I felt safe and happy. A drive in my brain was turned on that I had never experienced before. I had to eat it all and right now.
Not surprisingly, eating all that sugar in one sitting made me sick. I had a terrible stomach ache that lasted the rest of the day. I knew exactly what had caused it, but that didn’t deter me from wanting more. As soon as I found a way to get access to candy again, I followed the same patterns of sneaking it into my room and settling in for a binge that provided comfort for a fleeting amount of time.
Sadly, I battled binge-eating disorder for about the next two decades.

When it comes to clean beauty, one of the biggest questions is, “but which clean deodorant actually works?!” The struggle to find a non-toxic deodorant can be very real and that’s because so many of the non-toxic deodorants, truth be told, are not great. Even the good ones, relative to the chemical filled anti-antiperspirants, are an adjustment as well.
I personally have tried dozens – Tom’s, Schmidt’s, Agent Nateur, Ursa Major, etc. – you name it, I’ve probably applied it. Through my trial and error, I’ve narrowed down my favorites to these three (albeit I’m always open to finding anything else that’s excellent so please share if you have one you love!):
A girlfriend was adamant that I give this one a try, so I did, and I’ve been using it regularly every since. Primally Pure is not an antiperspirant – sweat is a healthy and normal and it’ll still happen here – but it does mask body odor with its pleasant fragrance. It also glides on beautifully, has never irritated my skin and I’m quite fond of the lavender vibes.

First, a little raw and revealing love note from me to you. This is one of those posts that I know in my heart can help people, and I think it’s part of my responsibility not only as a blogger, but as a fitness professional, to not just share fun pictures of workouts and food, but to show the struggles and obstacles that come along, too.
