DIY Lemon Poppyseed Sugar Scrub

This bright and juicy Whipped Lemon Poppyseed Emulsified Sugar Scrub is a new bath time favourite of mine. In addition to leaving my skin wonderfully soft, hydrated, and exfoliated, it also leaves me craving pound cake, and I definitely don’t think that’s a bad thing. It’s rich and creamy, packed with scrubby sugar and a sprinkling of poppy seeds, and thanks to the emulsifying wax in it, it won’t leave greasy globs of shower death in your bathtub. All good things, says I (my shower, skin, and skull agree).

DIY – Beat the Winter Blues – Mood Boosting Room Scents

Although I say this a lot (and this time I really mean it), these room sprays are incredibly simple to make. You only need four things–water, alcohol, essential oils and several little spritz bottles–to get started.

While bergamot, lavender and chamomile are popular choices when it comes to mood-boosting fragrances, feel free to mix and match using oils you already have on hand. And if you find that the smell of alcohol overpowers the essential oils, swap it out for something subtler like witch hazel.

MOISTURIZING GREEN TEA BODY WASH

Since green tea is chock full of healing antioxidants, flavonoids and catechins, it can help soothe skin and counteract the effects of free radical damage from sun exposure and environmental toxins. Studies even show that green tea may help soothe inflammation and protect skin from cancer caused by sunlight. When combined with extra moisturizing ingredients like shea butter, coconut oil and honey, this body wash sinks into parched skin and creates a protective barrier against the elements. And because it uses castile soap as its base, it lathers like a dream without stripping skin of its natural oils–thus leaving your skin even softer than before.

DIY No Smell Spray

You spray it into the toilet bowl before you go no. 2 (that’s the “poo” of Poo-pourri), and the spray floats on top of the toilet water to create a fresh-smelling barrier (that’s the “pourri” of Poo-pourri).  It traps the odors inside the toilet bowl so that the stink does not come out of the toilet, which keeps the air in the bathroom smelling fresh and clean.

Simply amazing!
